Materials for Turned Parts

Brass is widely used for turned parts in electrical and connection applications: it combines electrical conductivity, machinability and suitability for soldering and electroplating.

  • CuZn39Pb3 — Free-machining brass for machined components
  • CuZn39Pb2 — Brass alloy for parts to drawing; please specify application and material requirements
  • CuZn38Pb2 — Good formability for connection components
  • CuZn36Pb3 — Brass alloy for components to customer specification
  • CuZn42Pb≤0,1 — Reduced-lead brass alloy listed in our product catalogue

Typical Applications

Our brass turned parts are used across industrial applications where dimensional accuracy, conductivity and durability matter.

  • Connector pins, contact sockets and earth pins for electrical applications
  • Terminal block inserts and terminal bolts for electrical connections
  • Press-fit nuts, standoffs and threaded inserts for fastening applications
  • Valve inserts and connectors for fittings
  • Complex contact parts to customer drawings
  • Contact pins and connectors for e-mobility

FAQ

Questions About CNC Turned Parts

What are CNC turned parts?+

CNC turned parts are precision components machined from bar stock on computer-controlled lathes. The workpiece rotates while a cutting tool removes material to create shapes such as sockets, pins, bolts and sleeves.

Which tolerances can be achieved?+

Achievable tolerances depend on geometry, material and manufacturing process. We review your drawing and agree dimensions, tolerances and inspection requirements before production.

Which production quantities are possible?+

We specialise in medium and large series. Please specify your batch size and annual requirement. Feasibility, economical quantities and delivery dates are agreed for your project.

Do you manufacture to customer drawings?+

Yes. We manufacture to customer drawings or samples rather than a standard catalogue. Each component is made to your specifications using the agreed tolerances and materials.

Which materials do you machine?+

We focus on the brass alloys listed in our product catalogue, including CuZn39Pb3, CuZn39Pb2 and CuZn38Pb2. Please state your required material and application requirements in your enquiry.
